Dates for 2009 Regattas
Three regatta dates have been confirmed for 2009:
- 31 January - Auckland Regatta to be held at the Viaduct - Maritime Museum
- 14 March - Auckland Dragon Boat Festival to be held at lake Pupuke
- 28 March - NZ Dragon Boat Nationals to be held at Blue Lake, Rotorua
Marcia Fraser Elected Life Member of Busting With Life
At the 25 August 2008 Annual General Meeting, Marcia Fraser was enthusiastically voted a Life Member of the team, recognising the huge contribution she made to the team during her five year presidency and nine years on-the-water. President Trea Kenny made a
presentation to Marcia on behalf of the team.
BWL Wins the NZ Breast Cancer Dragon Boat Championship Shield
At the National Championships at Lake Pupuke, Busting With Life brought the Shield "home" with its best race of the day - well ahead of the 5 other NZ breast cancer survivor teams, and only inches behind visiting Dragons Abreast Gold Coast.
BWL Takes it's First Medal in a Corporate Social Grand Final
On 15 March 08, BWL competed in the Wellington Dragon Boat Festival winning it's first medal in an open category. This success was on the heels of it's 1 March victory in the Tauranga Super 12 where it won gold in the Breast Cancer Grand Final.
